Nick Mosienko
Nick Mosienko, is a British artist, living and working in Languedoc-Roussillon, southern France. Although his work is abstract, or sometimes semi-abstract, each piece is a representation distilled from many influences. Nick adores the natural light of southern France – the infinite variety of hues, levels of saturation, and clarity of colours around him, is something he constantly observes. Natural forms, architecture, time, weather and the feelings all of these can evoke, are the inspirations that Nick combines and distils to express in his work. He works mainly in oil on canvas.
Apart from southern France, he also finds inspiration in Kent – its stunning and varied coastline, landscapes and weather – and also creates work, derived from these aspects. His work has a quality which was recently observed as having “…..complexity within the simplicity… quietness and strength to the tension between the colours….. a sense of isolation that is there, that feels very rich….. not lonely or empty, justnot in need of anything more to complete it.”
