Jack Frame
Born to Scottish parents in Chatham, Jack studied at Glasgow School of Art, was awarded a first class degree, and enjoyed a sell-out degree show two years ago. Recently he was a finalist in the prestigious Jolomo Awards for Landscape Painting, and this competition has brought his work to a much larger and appreciative audience. Jack uses his images of trees as a means to chart the passage of time – “I keep going back to trees as a way of understanding the world” he explains. “The tree works as the figure in the landscape for me at the moment.”
Now living in Scotland he divides his time between painting and teaching at the independent Lomond School where he has been artist-in-residence since 2007. He enjoys the energy that the children have, and tries to see the world through their eyes
