Isobel Chapman
Isobel Chapman was born in Sussex in 1951 and now lives in East Grinstead with her husband. She has two grown-up children. Always interested in art, but with no formal training, she began painting in the early 1990’s, quickly became hooked and now regularly exhibits her work. She has had many private and corporate commissions with twelve of her paintings hanging in the prestigious Ashdown Park Country House Hotel including four major pieces in their banqueting rooms.
Apart from numerous open exhibitions held throughout the south of England she has also taken part in a number of shows for selected artists and had her own dedicated exhibition in Dorset. She works primarily in gouache and is interested in pursuing the use of colour, composition and line to convey her emotional response to her subject.
