ILLUSTATORS CORNER
We have a weakness for Illustrators who are often first class watercolurists, but who are not always seen as artists. We believe this is wrong since there is an art in expressing an idea simply and with a subtlety of line and colour. Apart from Anita Jeram, who has her own page, we show here original work by Alison Friend and Fran Evans.
Alison has a cultish following for her quirky and humorous watercolour tableaux. Her fascination for intricate detail and portrayal of pure observation with her own interpretation makes these pieces genuinely of ‘lift your heart’ quality. Her work is frequently published by Julian William’s Two Bad Mice Card Company, and has met with a fantastic response from buyers and the public nationwide.
Fran Evans work offers us soft, subtle and often amusing watercolours that delight in animals, often in a human context and that exlpore the world magic and mystery. She is now an established illustrator and works closely with the Two Bad Mice company.
