BRIAN BENNETT PPROI
Brian Bennett has recently stepped down from his post as President of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters after a very successful seven year stint in which he successfully emphasised the quality of Oil Painters within the Institute.
Having obtained an MA in History at Magdalene College Oxford he was later appointed Director of Art at Berkhamsted School, despite having no formal Art training. A decision that has long since proved to be justified. He regularly exhibits at the Royal Academy and has exhibited with the Royal Society of British Artists, the New English Art Club, the Royal Society of Marine Artists and the National Society.
He has been a Gallery artist since 1976 and has work in private collections in the USA, Europe and the United Kingdom as well as continuing to enjoy Royal patronage. Actively involved in Book, Video and Television projects he has increased awareness and appreciation for not only his own work but that of the ROI as well.
