BERNARD BATCHELOR RWS (DECEASED)
Bernard Batchelor was a member of the Royal Society of Painters in Watercolour and was the son of the late Roland Batchelor RWS. He began painting when very young and gained much of his inspiration from painting trips to the continent with his Father.
He was particularly happy when painting in Switzerland and he also painted a great deal in the River Thames area where he used to go camping with his Father.
He was commissioned by the Ministry of Works to do drawings of the coronation of HM Queen Elizabeth II and these were later shown at an exhibition in London.
