Anthony Osler
Anthony Osler was born in Ipswich in 1938 and educated at Northgate Grammar School for Boys, Ipswich; the Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester; and Southampton University. He has always been captivated by matters nautical and has been painting boats in watercolour (and occasionally oils) since 1970. For many years this was a profitable hobby, but since 1990 has been a part time and, later, a full time occupation.
Anthony has exhibited widely in this country as well as in France and the U.S.A., and has had several one man shows including one in Paris. He is chairman of the East Anglian Group of Marine Artists and has exhibited regularly at the Mall Galleries, London, with this group and with the Royal Society of Marine Artists. Anthony is a tutor in maritime painting and gives several demonstrations each year to art groups in Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex. He is also President of the Felixstowe Art Group and a member of The Society of East Anglian Watercolourists.
